We Americans often transfer incorrect lessons from our civil war to other countries. When we stopped shooting in 1865, our politicians returned to merely talking against one another. Other countries have merely continued their civil wars in diffrerent guises. And the people of those countries are always the first victims. The FMLN will deliver promises and hardship. Not that ARENA will do any better. If both parties would get out of the way, the people of El Salvador could build a sound economy and future for themselves.
