It was bound to happen one day. I resisted cell phones for years and social networking sites for longer still. But the last frontier, a genuine blog, has now been conquered. This old (okay, not really that old) newspaper journalist has finally gone digital.
If this blog serves only one purpose, I hope it will be to provide a slightly off-the-beat take on whatever place I happen to be in at the moment. But more than places, the people that make them. Little oddities that may tell the whole story, rather than the obvious shell that you can only see from the outside.
Right now, the action is based in central Mexico, where I live and teach English. It is a place often misunderstood, thanks to the outside shell that Americans sometimes put on foreign countries. But in reality, it’s not very foreign, and good stories can be had just by walking out the front door and looking around. I aim to harvest as many as I can and send them your way.
In the coming months and years, this process could be repeated all over the globe. One of the nice things about being 25 and adventurous is that you never know what will happen next. Come back for a visit soon and together we can find out.
